Rana Silva (Otherwise known as Tiana Rodriguez CBE GCMG) - Tortured bleached-blonde misanthrope with a serious self-hatred problem and a horrifically disfigured face (on the off occasions when she removes her prosthesis). Suicidal, but not brave enough to do the deed and on far too many prescription drugs for her own good, she's about to set out to complete her final - this time personal - mission, which will either make or break her (probably the latter...) 

Evelyn 'Evy' Cameron MBE - Ex-MI6 agent forced into retirement with a panic disorder, a past she's trying to forget and a semi-vendetta against her old boss. Not-so recently divorced, to quote her beloved Dixie Chicks, 'not ready to make nice' with a lot of people and unable to get over a lot of things: Tiana; her job; her old life; most unfortunately, the memories of years gone by that keep her up at night. When a Portuguese stranger with an oddly-profiled face and a somewhat unusual identity, chaos will soon be ensued...

Dame Olivia Hargreaves (Otherwise known to her agents as 'C') - MI6's Cold War-hardened commanding officer who is in desperate need of a decent manicure. She's arrogant, self important and gives out the (somehow believable) impression that she's been figure-heading '6 since she was a foetus. Agents are disposable pieces in a petty farce of a game; they aren't meant to live when left to die. What will happen when one breaks the mold and she's not the one holding the gun for once? 

David Cameron (no, not the one you're thinking of) - Evelyn's gawky, cat-loving manchild of a son, and the only one of the family not yet completely over his mother's...unfortunate accident when he was 14. Trekkie, Whovian, Potterhead, Sherlockian and just about every other '-ian', '-ie' and '-head' that you can think of, he's an IT teacher trying to live out his hum-drum life in the company of his boyfriend, and Earl the teabag-eating cat. However, being related to Evelyn, normality was left in the rearview mirror a long time ago... 

Summer Aitkin - Evelyn's DCI daughter who is once again just trying to be normal and forget about the fact that her mother has an automatic reflex/habit of scanning a room as she enters for objects with which it would be possible for her to kill you with. Then again, her job involves a lot of faffing around with dead bodies, so she isn't really one to talk. She's married with kids and a Pomeranian that appears to think it's a wolf, but  boring is not allowed if your maiden name is 'Cameron', and her life is about to be flipped upside-down at the drop of a hat. 

Matthew Brady - A name all but banned in the Cameron household, Matthew was Evelyn's husband and is Summer and David's 'darling father' and a person whom you will likely hear before you see. Smart-mouthed and not scared at all to say exactly what he thinks exactly as he thinks it, with no filter whatsoever, he's not a pleasant man to be around. However, there's a shock on the way for him and his (ex) family. Will Evy let bygones be bygones, or will history repeat itself in the most ironic of ways and leave him to suffer in silence? 

Lorna Henderson - Lipstick lesbian, ER trauma nurse and Tiana's fiancee once upon a time, Lorna is an incredibly close friend of Evelyn, whom she bonded with as they both grieved the loss of their best friend and/or would-be spouse. Despite being in a relationship once again, the same woman who found Evelyn approaches her with another bizarre claim. Answering her pleas would mean leaving behind the life she worked to build up, but getting back what she's been praying to have again for so many years. To believe or not to believe? 

Pamela Thornton - Olivia's suck-up of a secretary and right-hand woman. Pamela has no interest at all in espionage; however, after a failed bid for Prime Minister, she's vied for Evelyn's retirement and in turn position for years in order to get some sort of high-up position in the British government. However, when a figment of Olivia's past turns up with a Beretta and an insane statement about her connection to the MI6 head honcho and she finds her life compromised, things look as if they are about to get messy. Maybe she should have turned up at that training course after all...

Ethan Hardy - David's boyfriend and an emergency pediatric doctor, Ethan generally wants to be left alone to his reading and obsessive Fawlty Towers binge-watching during the few hours that he finds himself not working. However, a chain reaction of events means that things just cannot be that simple. Oh the joys of having an ex-spy for an (almost) mother-in-law...
